June 25, 2017 | Asbury Park, NJ – The Stone Pony is a legend in the rock music scene, frequented by Bruce Springsteen and many others, the walls are adorned with ‘souvenir’ guitars left by rock music legends. This show was originally slated to be on the outdoor “Summer Stage”, but was moved inside to the ‘regular’ stage for untold reasons.
Reel Big Fish, a 90’s SKA ‘survivor’ band is currently on tour with 3 other bands, ‘The Beer Run Tour’ and played Sunday June 25th.
Tunnel Vision, a ‘surf reggae ska’ band from California opened with a bang, getting the crowd moving in tight spaces. Next up was the punk band “The Queers’ currently a three-piece who’ve been around (off and on) since 1981, originally from New Hampshire. Third act was “The Expendables” who blend Reggae, Surf Rock, Ska and Punk into a fusion that scored big with the growing crowd.
Top bill act Reel Big Fish closed the night with their own brand of Ska/Reggae, got the crowd so crazy you couldn’t move (believe me, I tried), closing with their single “Sell Out” from the 1996 top 100 charts.
