Headlining this years Skate Stage during the the Jay Z curated Budweiser Made In America festival, which took place over Labor day weekend in Philadelphia, was a group of talented teens who make up the LA-based band Red Letter Day. While young in age —lead vocals and bass guitarist Will is 16, John who plays drummer and sings is 16, on lead guitar and vocal is Jason who is 14 and Dominic who plays rhythm guitar and also sings is 15— these guys display maturity in their sound and performance. Although, that should be no surprise as these guys come from musical families and have been practicing and performing music since they all can remember.
And as a testament to their talent, they have won the House of Blues Music Forward Foundation competition, performed in support of the 90s rock band Dishwalla, played to a packed house at the Wiltern in L.A., performed at the Whisky a Go Go and Knott’s Berry Farm, to name just a few and will be opening for The Gin Blossoms later this month.
Concert Blogger Music Magazine had the opportunity to catch up with the guys before their performance at the Budweiser Made In America festival. Take a listen to our conversation and get to know more about these guys.
