We recently had a chance to catch up with Five Finger Death Punch bassist Chris Kael, while out at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour stop in Bristow, VA. The band put on an incredible performance at this year’s Mayhem Festival. One thing I have to hand to Five Finger Death Punch is that they know how to put on one hell of a rocking show. Each time that I have the pleasure of witnessing this band in the live setting, it only gets better and better each and every time. This year at Mayhem they did a wonderful and very touching tribute to our troops, had incredible interactions with the fans, and even went as far as to bring our next generation of little rockers (aka children from the audience) up on the stage to share the spotlight with them to rock out for a song or two. The story that vocalist Ivan Moody shared about the fallen soldiers’ dog tags that he wears everyday literally brought tears to my eyes, definitely one of those incredibly touching moments that does not happen too often at a metal show. I am counting down the days until we are able to catch another Five Finger Death Punch performance before this year is over!
